Are you interested in writing for the Virtual Season 11, but don't want to write a whole episode? Are you better at vignettes than case files? Then this is the place for you! Here you will find instructions on how to submit a piece for one of our special events.

How to format your special event submission:

All submissions for a special event should be no longer than 35k. Submissions should be submitted as a text (.txt) document, and should follow the same formatting guidelines as regular episodes for submission. Click here to view the author guidelines.

What should my submission entail?

A special event submission should follow the theme of the special event. For example, for a Halloween special, you should write something having to do with Halloween. It does not have to be a case file, but it should involve the X-files chartacters used in the Virtual Season.

Does continuity with the rest of the season count?

Yes. If your short involves something that has gone on so far in the VS according to physical condition of our agents, relationship status, and time period that may have consequences from the previous episode, it should be taken into account. Other than that, there is complete freedom.

Also, please try to have your submission beta-read before submitting. Our team of beta-readers won't have the time to read each one by the air date. If anything, please do a spell-check.

When should I submit?

Who do I send it to?

Please send submissions to the producers, and indicate which special event you are submitting to in the subject of your e-mail.
